Northbound 35, just headed down the road

We left for Anna Grace's first out-of-state road trip today. She was quite the trooper, putting up with being in her carseat for about 8 hours. Tonight we are staying in lovely Belleville, Kansas (which is great since they have Shiner Bock at the liquor store). Tomorrow we will finish the drive to Gregory, SD. Here she is entertaining herself with a book.

Happy Birthday!

We are approaching Anna Grace's first birthday and the first present came. I could hardly resist opening it right away. AG even had the hang of ripping the paper. She got these great fridge letters, thank you great grandma and great aunt wendy!

Feed me!

Apparently I wasn't fast enough getting the food to AG for lunch this afternoon. She took to eating the chair cover :)

Blueberry pickin'

Miss Amy took us for the most fun afternoon today! We drove to Blueberry Hill Farms and picked blueberries. I thought Anna Grace should try them for the first time. I gave her one and she was hooked. After a few blueberries, I thought I should give her a few Cheerios. Wrong, she knocked them right out of my hands, as if to say, more blueberries. Anyway, she ate her fair share and was a trooper through and through. We took this picture as we were leaving, notice where her hand is!
Our thanks to Grant and Amy for a fantastic 24 hours.

The Farm

After meeting Gigi and grandpa we headed out to Grant and Amy's farm for a much overdue visit. We arrived Sat. afternoon just in time to introduce AG to a horse and a cow.
She was only kind of intrigued until the horse sniffed her toes. It was too cute and the horse is so friendly. It was perfect for the first visit.
After that we walked over to see the newest calf on the ranch. He is only 1 day old!

Trading Bailey

Gigi and grandpa Tom met us for a quick lunch on Sat. so that we could give them Bailey. He is going to stay with them for about the next 3 weeks.

Swimming lessons

AG started swim lessons this week. She wasn't too sure about the water temperature on Monday. In other words, this doesn't feel like Grandma and grandpa's pool! And in her defense, it took my breath away. However, it has gotten better every day.
Happy Summer!

Happy Father's Day

I hope that Matt enjoyed a day just for him. I am grateful every day for the involved, loving father that he is. He is a wonderful daddy! For all the dads in our lives, we hope that your day was filled with love and appreciation.

Visits from friends

We had a busy weekend with company. Our friend Tim and his youngest boy joined us for dinner Friday night. Here is little Thomas with Anna Grace. What a cutie he is! We are so grateful we could spend the evening getting to know him and see Tim again.

Tippy Toes

Matt is out front mowing the lawn, isn't this hilarious? She probably wishes she was just a little taller, I can relate.

Deja vu?

Do you feel like you may have seen this outfit before? I wanted to see if it fit this summer on account of it being too big most of last year. Anyway, as you can see it still does.

Silly Grant and Amy

We met for dinner and at the end AG was getting fussy, Amy kindly took the little wiggle worm. A few minutes later Grant started making these really silly faces and Anna Grace was hooked!

I loved the laughter from everyone involved.

Up to no good

Anna Grace can reach onto the arms of the sofa and chairs now, and today she found daddy's phone. I moved it further back and she got this smirk on her face and went straight for it again. :) I caught just a glimpse as I said her name.

Birthday party

We visited Pearson's 2nd birthday at the pool on Saturday. It was our first real taste of summer and the pool felt great. It was a little bright for the camera, but I couldn't resist a picture with her daddy walking her around the water.

Floating

I bought Anna Grace a new float toy for the trip to San Antonio. It's quite a hit and she can maneuver it around the outer edge because it isn't deep there. What a good afternoon.

Knock, knock

When Matt was outside with all the tree trimmers and electricians last week, I knocked on the back window to get his attention. The next thing you know Anna Grace was imitating me. But now that we are at grandma and grandpas, they have windows just the right height for that. :)

Counting Kisses

Jim and Dianne Howell gave us the cutest book called counting kisses. AG obviously likes to kiss the book too!

Matt asked the other day if I have all of the books memorized and my reply was when she wants to read a book we read it. That means that we read A LOT! But, it also means that yes, I have a lot of the books memorized too.

Daddy's badge

AG found the badge that Matt uses to get into work this weekend. She loved pulling it and letting it retract. What a fun game!

Fireworks at home

We had a very exciting afternoon at our house yesterday. About 2:00 I heard what really sounded like fireworks in our neighbors yard. I noticed that all of the lights were flashing with each pop and as I looked out the back windows I could see sparks and smoke right over our garage. (where our electrical lines run) I called TXU and within an hour we had a crew larger than you can imagine descending on our house. A line went down that could have carried 7200 volts!!!! Here they are fixing the line after decimating our trees in the alley.
