First lesson

Dearest friend

Oh how busy we have gotten in this day to day stuff.  I don't get to see very much of this smile, but when I do, I treasure it.  Thankful that we can pick up right where we need to and blessed that God has given me her friendship.  Happy Birthday Mere, it only seems right that we celebrate you on Valentine's!

Wait...

We went to a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party today.  AG saw this other mom there and said, "I know her".  I did not know her, not at all.  So a few minutes pass and someone else realized that it is the lady from "worst cooks in America".  Anna Grace had watched it with Gigi.  I introduced ourselves to ask for a picture and this lady was just precious!  She got down and spoke directly to AG and told her to watch the upcoming episode.  She told me she is enjoying her 15 minutes of fame as well.

Valentine's boxes

Earlier this week I saw these cute mailboxes at Target with the girls.  I asked several times if they didn't want one.  AG said but we ALWAYS make them.  So they found some on Pinterest that no one else in class was making (Of course they aren't because who else is this crazy!)

Lots of cutting and mod podge!

Today Matt is at a Men's conference for church and so I guess this is what we did with our WHOLE day.  They are pleased as punch though so it's all worth it.  AG has a little camper and ML made a train.

50's night

Tonight the kiddos got to dress up for cotillion in their poodle skirts.  It was so fun to see them dance and enjoy themselves.

Middle School

Everyone else we know got their acceptance letters yesterday.  AG was patient to wait an extra day.  It's worth it too!  She was accepted into the Biomedical Science Prep program.  We are excited to be off on a new adventure and cannot fathom that we will have a middle school aged girl soon.

Ice Cream snack

Anna Grace had to stay late after school today.  ML said she was starving and asked if she could have ice cream.  I don't think she thought we would.  Happy Monday!

Prayer journals

Matt has the vestry retreat today.  The girls are helping me make prayer journals for one of our outreach programs.  I love their willingness to pitch in.

I love that their hands have touched an prayed for these special women too.

Happy Birthday Gigi!

Matt's mom came for dinner tonight to celebrate her birthday!  I think we may have even found a favorite for flourless cake.  Wishing Gigi a blessed birthday and year to come!

Piano

We are so glad that our favorite piano teacher is feeling better now and willing to take on new students.  ML has decided she would like to learn.  Her first lesson will be next week!

Quilting away

My mom had a wild idea to make quilts for my sweet neighbor.  We love them dearly and they were just blessed with 3 babies!  So here goes nothing!

Ice skating

I love this sweet little spot in Fort Worth.  Where else can you ice skate outside in a light jacket?  It's in the 60s today and it is an entirely different experience to ice skate when you aren't freezing!

Cotillion

Last fall I signed Anna Grace up for her first cotillion.  I can't believe the first night is already here.  She was excited to dress up and meet a few friends there.

There are 8 kids from her class participating and I know that she will have a blast!

Hand jive

Having dinner at a Mere's tonight and ML taught their daughter a new hand jive.  Love these girls giggling together.

Circuitry

ML received this amazing kit to build circuits with for Christmas this year.  She did about the first 75 in one sitting.

Starbucks date

She came with me to run an errand and we had to have a little hot chocolate :)

Cookies

Nonna always has cookies.  Today the girls were helping restock their favorites.

8.5"

And just like that there isn't enough hair to curl.  ML has been asking for a short haircut for a bit.  Today she let them cut 8.5" in the first pass.

It is pretty cute!  AG just opted for a trim!

Hair!

Anna Grace got a curling wand for Christmas.  today we all did our hair, mine included!  Matt had to work today, so he was exempt.

Spaghetti

I was making suggestions for some of the things we could have for dinner tonight.  ML didn't miss a beat, said that she wanted spaghetti and then pulled up her chair.  When I asked what the chair was for, she said she was ready to start making noodles.  I had intended to use a box, but I am never one to turn down a willing cook.  Plus, it's vacation so we don't really care if dinner is a few minutes late.
