Birthday fun!

Gigi and Grandpa Tom came up for Morgan Leigh's birthday.  They brought along Anna Grace's birthday present as well.  Notice the sheer size of these. 

They both received bean bag chairs and they are a huge hit!  Both girls crawled right up in them and grinned from ear to ear. 

Then it was party time.  We had lunch and these butterfly cupcakes. 

Although she looks a little unsure now, she has enjoyed "happy" being sung to her all week.  We lit the candles and sang but she wanted me to blow out candles. 

I must have done something right.  She was the last one at the table for lunch and for dessert.  That made it all worth it.

We had her sweet friend Emily and they were full of hugs for one another.  :)  Thank you friends for helping us celebrate our precious cupcake.

ML's checkup

We went for our check up today.  She now weighs 25.2 lbs (30th percentile) and is 33" tall.  She continues to learn new phrases and words so rapidly that it boggles my mind.  She calls a phone a "hello" and I know that I will miss that when she starts calling it a phone.  At lunch the other day she kept saying "my plate".  It took me a minute to figure out what she meant and when I finally understood and repeated it, she looked at me like why did it take you so long.  :)  She loves pink and requests pink for most things.

Our cupcake is 2!

Our sweet girl just turned 2 today.  We started our morning with eggs and cheese, her very favorite.

We waited for daddy to get home to really start celebrating.  She and AG were anxious to show him the video of her in the pool last week.  I loved how they both had to crawl up to enjoy it too.

She wasn't ready to open presents, so we headed to McKinley's for a sweet treat.  We wanted to give her a special treat, but I was already preparing to make our cupcakes for our party Sat.  A friend of mine suggested that it was like letting your friend bake for her...I couldn't agree more!  She had the whole case to choose from and chose a party cookie (the smallest and cheapest thing)

Then it was home to open a few gifts from us and Nonna and V.  It was so fun to watch her open the gifts.

She wanted help to open each box all the way before moving on to the next.

That was great until we let her open Nonna and V's present.  We opened the some assembly required present.  She immediately found the "hello" (aka the phone) and started playing.

We went to dinner and came home to finish the assembly. I think we have been fortunate not to have many toys so far that require this much assembly :)

And this was the first thing she did when she got up.  She oohed and aahed and we got to facetime Nonn and V to say a proper thank you.



Father's Day

We were so fortunate to be with dad on Father's Day this year.  I am so blessed that he is my daddy and such a wonderful grandpa to my girls.  You are very loved daddy!

Happy hour giggles

We swam almost twice a day every day that we were here.  ML started acting like a fish and she was pushing across the pool.

But the giggles started with Allie.  Although it is AG's toy - it always provides entertainment with the adults.  Here's Brad giving it a go.

So Nonna felt obligated to make all of us laugh too.  She fell in about 2 seconds later.  :)  It was a very happy hour tonight.

Cupcake!

Our little cupcake is turning 2.  Nonna and V are going to miss her party, so we celebrated wth a cupcake.  When we put the candles on she went "ooohh!"  So cute!

As you can see the cupcake was thoroughly enjoyed.

Popsicles

V is so patient with Anna Grace!  Here she is watering his head to see if it would grow. 

Yesterday we made cookies and popsicles.  So we got to taste the homemade yogurt popsicles.  They were fabulous!  I will definitely make those again.

And lastly, a picture with uncle Brad.  He was able to suprise us with a trip for the weekend.  So fun!  He was trying hard to get ML to warm up to him.  He succeeded, even if it took a while. 

Pool time

Matt was scheduled to be gone this week for work.  We decided to spend the week with Nonna and V.  I loaded everyone up Monday morning and hit the road.  We were about 2 hours away when AG got car sick for the first time.  Lovely! 

But it was quickly forgotten as we jumped in the pool

Morgan Leigh was happy to be in the pool, but done much quicker.  She went up to the porch to push the baby in the stroller.

Sliding

We got a slip 'n slide after being at a friend's home this week.  AG convinced the whole family to slide this afternoon.

What a fun way to cool off today!

So BIG!

Today while ML was napping we decided to turn her seat forward.  All of the recommendations are to wait until you are 2 now.  She has been so patient!  But she woke up from her nap and as we went outside - Matt was sitting in her car seat tightening it down.  She kept pointing to him.

Then we let her crawl in and she knew it was big.  She grinned, clapped, and insisted that we go for a ride.  So BIG!

Playgroup

We joined a new group for the summer that has a lot of kiddos closer to ML's age too.  We had the first one today at my sweet friend's home.  Anyway, the kids got to swing, and splash and have so much fun.  ML started to climb up the climbing wall, which was making me quite nervous.  I showed her the ladder on the side and she was all over it.  She climbed on the slide and started shouting "mommy!" and clapping for herself.  I was grateful for a wet bottom that slowed her down on such a steep slide!

Park time

We met some friends on a spur of the moment trip to the park.  We haven't visited this one in a while and I must go more often.  It's one of the only places that has a whole area just for Morgan Leigh.  She could do the stairs and the slides all by herself.  Plus, there aren't areas that I feel she could jump off!  So proud!

It was really hot though.  The kids didn't seem to care at all though!

Playdate fun

We were invited to a friends home to play and eat lunch today.  The girls and I made these fabulous popsicles and thook them along.  So fun to see all the kids eating together.

Cool playgrounds

As the temperature rises, we will be on the lookout for cool places to go. Today, we visited the mall and there is a new train. The girls were both intrigued, but it drives you around the mall...

At dinner tonight, matt brought up "pull ups". So after dinner he hiked AG up to try one. I think we all giggled through the ordeal.

And not to be left out, ML has to try it. :)

Pool afternoon

We filled up the pool today and hopped right in. I thought the girls would be a little burned out with the size, but boy was I wrong!
