Cascarones, margaritas and armadillo eggs

We started with a batch of margaritas and that turned into a batch of armadillo eggs.

ML came to give her support in the kitchen.  I said it is always a family affair.

We moved onto the porch for some cascarones.

I couldn't narrow down all the fun pictures.

Lots of giggles, and lots of fun.  So glad to be in San Antonio for a little of Fiesta and hope that we didn't infect anyone else that saw us! 

Fish shopping and lunch

After a full parade, they all loaded up for Chris Madrid's. ML didn't touch her burger, but the ketchup on the other hand...   



Then grandpa took the girls to the fish store to pick out more goldfish for the pond.

Pooch parade

ML woke this morning and said, "I'm so excited for the parade today!"  They start the parade every year with the national anthem. 

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the parade! (Nonna and I went to our favorite fair too, so fun was had by all!)

Pool time

We loaded up yesterday for San Antonio and Fiesta.  Matt didn't feel well for most of the day and our trip down and I got it today.  It didn't stop the girls from enjoying all things in SA.  And we were grateful to have some extra hands!

ML was insistent about getting her own goggles.  It's good she is getting used to them before her swimming lessons this summer :)

Zoo show

The zoo did a new show today for it's members.  I really didn't know what to expect, but it was fabulous!  So glad to see it with friends!

Anniversary

I didn't take a single picture this year!  We celebrated 13 years by getting a sitter and heading to a TCU vs. A&M baseball game.  We drove to a friends house in the convertible and met some friends for tailgating prior to the game. 

Fun dip

Nothing like some fun dip to complete a Monday!

It's back!

We finally got the garage cleaned out enough from the kitchen remodel to bring Matt's car home.  He was like a child with a Christmas present.

Park visit

We took an impromptu trip to the park today.  ML wore two pairs of sunglasses with a headband.  Quite the fashionista!

It was a fabulous way to spend the morning!

Big Girl!

We are making the move.  We took a side off of the crib today, or "cage" as Morgan Leigh likes to refer to it.  She was so excited to help in the process!

All smiles from ear to ear!  She has been in her room for an hour now and there is not a second of sleeping going on....

But with Matt home this week, it seemed like a good time to give it a go. 

Movies and take-out

Daddy wasn't scheduled to land until way past bedtime tonight.  We took the opportunity to get some take-out, and eat while watching a movie.

The girls were pretty excited to eat while watching Barbie 2.  Happy Friday!

Strollers

The girls used the perfect weather this afternoon for taking their dolls for a walk.  I love springtime!

After school

Today at lunch my sweet friend said I MUST get Instagram and of course she was right.  We are having fun with the new camera!  And we enjoyed meeting some great friends for ice cream and playground time today as well!

Exercise

I have been taking ML to a new program at our CM lately for toddler Tuesdays.  They have this cute little instructor that does some exercise and gives them a healthy snack.  We meet a dear friend of mine and then we all stay for lunch.  ML was wary of this the first 2 times.  She is adjusting though and even got her hand stamped at the end today!  Go Morgan Leigh!

The rock

A few months ago I started making "rocks" for Matt's happy hour drinks.  The girls got to have them in their drinks tonight too, but they were too big for their cups.  :)

Young chef

I remember at the beginning of the year the teacher saying we had a really young class.  He wasn't kidding, we have had birthday after birthday this spring.  I stuck around this time at cooking school for kids.  So fun, they made pizza and had cake.  AG made hers heart shaped.

Math problems

We went to breakfast today at Matt's favorite place.  I was explaining how some of AG's class work this week included 2 column addition, without carrying over.  AG quickly interjected, "I can carry over, write one down."  So I did, and yes she can.  Smarty pants!  It has been quite a transition week for us.  Her beloved kindergarten teacher resigned this week.  I was devastated and will miss him dearly.  Luckily, AG is much less emotional about it than I am, but she does miss him.  They have found a temporary bi-lingual sub, and they have BIG shoes to fill!  I would hate to follow behind our loved Mr. Leibrock! 

Best Daddy

The girls and I spent some time this week making and decorating red velvet cupcakes for our favorite daddy. 

We decorated on Thursday and quickly sampled just one.  (The beauty of cupcakes is that they aren't missed!)

And then we sang when daddy got home afterschool today.  He was well aware of his present because ML told him at least three times this week over FaceTime.  It doesn't change the fact that we think the world of him.  Happy Birthday Matt!



New things

While mom and I were getting our Easter feast together, the girls broke out their new toys. 

I love that everyone was still out in the kitchen with me.  Such fun new things and we are so lucky to have family here to share it with us!

He is Risen!

We decorated a cross with flowers today before the service started.  It looked beautiful when it was done.

Once again, ML had to be coaxed to get some more eggs.

ML with her sweet little friend.  They are inseparable through most church events and I know they will be forever friends that will always treasure these shots.

After the eggs, we released butterflies which is such an amazing tradition!

Happy Easter!  What a glorious day to celebrate our Savior!

Easter morning

The girls got a small Easter basket.

But were just as we excited about the things from Nonna and V.

Then we moved outside to hunt some more eggs.  It took some coaxing for ML to get into it. 

AG had to show her where some were.  I think we were out before 7 am, I am sure the neighbors loved that!  Such a good way to start the morning!

Egg dying

We were a day late getting to the eggs this year.  We started bright and early this morning.

So early we even caught ML in her pjs.  Before we got started I had this fleeting thought that the girls shouldn't sit on the banquette with egg dye...This was seconds before ML tipped the blue dye all over her and the banquette.

Take 2, different clothes, different chairs and success!  (Have I mentioned how much I love my cleaner?!?)
