He is risen! Alleluia!

Easter is a busy time at our house.  It is the holiday that I am in charge of the kids activities at church.  Although this morning was busy and a little stressful for me, these kids are worth every second of it!  I love some of the pictures we got.

These two sweet girls....I cannot express how wonderful the bond that they share is.  I love that Morgan Leigh has a friend like that at church.

Anna Grace has her own special friend, but she is usually in town only during the summer.  She looked like she was going to burst when she joined us Good Friday!  But at the egg hunt time, it's all business.

After the egg hunt, we all gather to release butterflies.  What a glorious tradition!  I love these sweet girls watching every envelope and every butterfly emerge.

Anna Grace couldn't have been happier to hold one before it flew.

Our family picture this year.

And one with Gigi and grandpa Tom.  Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Easter!

The Easter bunny brought games and Aggie shorts this year.  The girls may even have reason to wear the shorts to the spring game soon!

A storm looked like it was rolling in though, and we quickly gathered the eggs from the backyard.

It kept getting darker and colder!  Now we're heading to eat our cinnamon rolls and quickly get ready for church!  Happy Easter.

Sugar cookies!

I have these adorable Easter cookie presses from Williams Sonoma so we usually get some fun cookie decorating it as well.

I mean, we need the cookies, and dessert and candy and everything sugar!  But I do love the tradition of it all!

Dying the eggs

We waited for Gigi and Grandpa to arrive this afternoon and the girls wasted no time getting us out to dye the eggs.

We did do them outside this year after spilling dye on the cushions inside last year :)

And we ended up with 13 bright colored eggs.  Tonight we will head to church for our first Good Friday service.

Easter Party

Morgan Leigh had her annual Easter party, with spring pictures, an egg hunt and pizza.  I love living so close to her school, because I can pop in for the two minute egg hung and leave again.

By Easter afternoon, we shall be egg hunted out I think!

Parties and more parties

The girls had two birthday parties this weekend.  The decorated cookies at Saturdays party.

Sunday we bounced and jumped at slid until mommy and daddy were quite exhausted!

I just love this action shot on the slide.  I think Anna Grace must have posed the whole way down.

Morgan Leigh posed with one of her favorite friends.  It was such a fun weekend, but now we need a few days to recover.

Sharing

The girls often ask to share a room and I am afraid that it would be short lived if we tried it.  But letting them share a bed for the night is easy enough.  This is how we found them.

Winnie the Pooh

We had tickets to Winnie the Pooh tonight.  We let AG choose dinner and ended up having sushi.  As far as the play goes, I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, me or them.

New do

Morgan Leigh will let the hairdresser and I choose her styles right now.  So she got this really cute bob that is stacked in the back.  Love it!

Crawfish boil

We had our first crawfish boil of the season today.  We were worried we'd have trouble finding the crawfish, but it wasn't too bad.  The kids didn't eat much, but it sure was tasty.

We also pulled out the tailgate games for a little fun.  AG is pretty determined.

Chinese take out

Our last day of spring break and we grabbed lunch and headed the gardens to eat with a friend.  Such fun until we noticed a stranger snapping our picture.

Picnics and piggies

I promised a picnic lunch and some pedicures today.  Here we are enjoying the beautiful weather.

It was AG's choice of what to eat since it's one of her last vacation days!  Mac 'n cheese with watermelon.  Yummy!

Exhaustion

Most afternoons if ML is on the couch, she falls asleep by 2.  We gave up naps long ago, but sometimes she just can't last.

Cozy friends

We went to a friend's home to craft today.  The kids all cuddled up on the sofa together and I couldn't resist the picture.  Since ML has been calling their dad "uncle Troy", I guess they feel like family now ;)

Quadrangle

Before we left today, Nonna and V took the girls to the quadrangle to feed the animals.  It looks like they had so much fun.

They fed deer and a duck that was sitting on 9 eggs.  They got to see several peacocks and stopped to get Chick Fil A on their way home.

Dancing

And who can resist Morgan Leigh's dance request?  Certainly not Nonna; she is always game for a dance.

Floor time

The girls often are spread out on my floor in the kitchen doing crafts or  a puzzle.  Today they got Nonna on her kitchen floor to use the marker sprayer.

Always my little ham for the camera.

Swim!

This could be one of their favorite things about break.  All the adults thought it was really chilly, but they didn't seem to notice at all.

Bread making

Nonna always has lots of special treats around for our visits.  There are always my favorite cookies, and on the counter you can see the Rice Krispie eggs that they made yesterday.  Today she taught them how to knead the bread.  Which is no small task for the dense bread that she makes!

Pecans and happy hour

The girls have been obsessed with pecans lately.  They are a favorite snack and they always talk about V with his pecans.  ML has been saving some to take to him to crack even.

But none of us could resist happy hour on the back deck.  Spring is here!

I captured one of my favorite night time occurrences   Morgan Leigh often grabs your face just like this and says. "I love you to the moon Mommy!"  It's enough to make me swoon!  Here's daddy getting the same treatment.

Oobleck

I volunteer at AG's school for science projects often.  Today we made Oobleck and it was quite the messy process.  Here's my sweet girl with her classmate.  What a fun way to end a Friday before spring break.

Woo hoo

I have been singing woo hoo spring break for 24 hours now.  Although officially it starts in 2 more hours!  Today it feels like spring and was a gorgeous day for chalk.

...and hopscotch....

And sharing the sunlight!  There's only one thing missing from the week we have ahead.  Any guesses?

Good Books...

There is nothing like a book to bring my children to your lap or to cuddle up next to you.  AG was getting her homework reading done while I cleared the table tonight.  Such a precious moment to capture!
