Zoo day

We met some of AG's classmates at the zoo yesterday for a while.  It was super hot, but the kids had a great time!  We gave them a list of rules before we went in, one of which was hold hands.  My little rule follower took that one quite seriously.  She held Robert's hand most of the time.

And then of course there is sweet little Morgan Leigh.  She rode peacefully in the stroller,  and looked at all the animals.  She did add her own shreiks when all the kids were screaming which was pretty cute.  Such a fun day, even if it was extremely hot.

Children's museum

I have been putting off going to the new museum and I don't even really know why.  But we finally went with some friends and it is fantastic!  Anna Grace loved it and we will definitely have to become members.  Here she is at the wind tunnel trying to make her paper fly.  So much fun!  (Excuse the picture quality...we seem to have lost the small camera....)

After the museum we headed to lunch and to Sweet Sammies.  Have you been yet??  If not - go!  Go soon, the prices are cheap and the owner is super.  We'll be back soon, Anna Grace is thinking of all the people she should take for their first time.

First day of summer

Anna Grace has been dying to get out our little pool.  Today we did just that and although I thought it would be a tad cold for Morgan Leigh, she did just great.

She splashed around for a few minutes before sitting on the towel with me.

11 months

Morgan Leigh is 11 months old today.  I still marvel every day as she learns and grows.  She is very quick now.  She crawls straight to just about anything AG doesn't want her to play with.  ML is doing really well with finger foods still.  She got to try Goldfish for the first time the other day too, and is totally addicted.  She acted like it was crack or something.  :)  She loves pieces of meat too, any will do...little carnivore!

Last day of school

We have been so blessed this year with two teachers that have loved our little girl to pieces.  She spent her first year with these amazing women, and we will forever be grateful.
She was too excited for her last day of school.  We planned what to wear, and made a new bow.  She looks so big compared to her first day of school.
I love this picture of her and her two BFF.  Although who it is changes frequently, she it usually involves these two.  (Plus, I wonder where she came up with the term BFF.  She even says my best friend forever!)

What an amazing year it has been.  I remember at the beginning of the year filling out the form of "expectations".  I think I filled in socialization skills.  I never could have imagined what an amazing year it would be for her.

Try again...

I was trying to snap a picture of the girls together.  They usually are so sweet to each other that it just makes you wish all those moments could be captured on film or video.  However, ML is too mobile to pose now.  Hmmm

Trains!

We rode the train today with our dear friends.  It's been a long time since we thought to do this and it is such a good time.  We walked to the park and had some lunch at the stopping point and then got on and returned to our car.

The kids all had a blast.  Thanks again, it was a great afternoon!

Big seat

We have been needing to upgrade ML's seat for a while.  She was beyond the length, but the carriers are so convenient!  Anyway, today was her first day in the big girl seat and she was pretty excited.  It's almost like she knew that it matched her sister's seat.  And since 2 is the new 1 she should have plenty of time to enjoy it!

Love Shack

We met some new friends for dinner tonight.  I love a great patio, the best burgers and friends to share it with.

I didn't snap a picture of ML while we were there, but got this when we got home.  Everyone had a great time.  Thanks for joining us!

Old friends

We definitely enjoy our friend Tim and his 3 boys.  We just don't get to see them as much as we would like.  They snapped this adorable picture after a dinner out with them.

Craft project

We tried a craft project today for the most wonderful teachers.  It's really hard for me to "let go" but I did.  I even let her do it in here petti-skirt.  I mean, you can do anything fancy right??

Zoo day

We met some friends today for a trip to the zoo.  I love the new MOLA exhibit.  We are very spoiled to have a zoo like this so close.  Once again, we managed to hit the zoo on a very busy day.  Maybe I am jinxed....maybe it's just busy every day at this time of year.

So big!

When Grandpa V was here a week ago, he kept saying "how big are you?"  Morgan Leigh would put her hands over her head, "so big".  That was the first thing I thought when I turned around and saw her standing next to the high chair today.  "So big"!  I was a little afraid to say it for fear that she would let go and put her hands above her head.

Camping trip

We took the girls on their first camping trip this weekend.  We used to go often, but needed a bigger tent before we could go again.  We put the tent up in the back yard last week.  AG called in the "outdoor house", considering it was about as big as our backyard, she wasn't too off.

We got to camp and hurried to start the fire, and get the tent up.  Here are the girls getting ready to eat.  The flecks of blue in the background are the bluebonnets that surrounded our camp.

We roasted hot dogs on the campfire and eventually made s'mores.  And when we were packing up, Anna Grace said that was the BEST part.  I do love some food cooked on the campfire, so I can't disagree.  All things considered, they did pretty well that night as well.  ML was in the pack 'n play and hardly made a peep, except to giggle once when I am quite sure her sister peeked at her.  AG was up as late as we were, but did finally sleep.
The next morning while Morgan Leigh napped, AG and daddy went to try to fish.  It was a great night there and we will do it again soon!

Mother's Day picnic

AG's school had a wonderful Mother's Day picnic today.  We picked her up a little early and headed to the park.  I gave her the choice of anything she wanted me to pick up.  My little foodie chose Central Market and chicken salad.  I packed our fancy picnic basket, a hand-painted wedding present, and the girls even got to wear matching outfits.  (Thanks Gigi!)

Here is AG with her friend.  It was a lovely afternoon!

Mother's Day photos

I took the girls out for pictures for Mother's Day.  We went to the Botanic Gardens and snapped pictures for about 30 minutes.  I was about a week late for hte perfect flowers though.  I could use an extra set of hands for these photo attempts :)

These were the roses I liked best, but since Morgan Leigh can't stand yet on her own...

I hope every one of the mom's we know had a wonderful day!

Dresses

We got this adorable dress from Great Aunt Wendy.  I couldn't resist snapping a picture of Morgan Leigh.  I hate that she doesn't have to sit still from my pictures anymore!  It is much more challenging to snap the pictures of a mobile child.

Letters

Anna Grace is getting so proficient at her letters it surprises me all the time.  Today we picked up a Word World activity book.  Daddy and I are so proud of her, and she is proud of herself as well.

Today she brought this home from school.

Mama

It's about time!  Sunday she crawled over to me and said mama.  In honor of that I put on a onesie from my brother, bet you can't guess which one.  Anyway, she is much harder to capture at this stage.  She goes wherever she wants now.

P.E.O. convention

We had a very hectic week here at home.  We had Nonna and V up to help watch the girls while I was at P.E.O. convention.  They arrived on Tuesday and I worked, Wed-Sat.  I can't thank them enough for the willingness to come do things like that!  V even chauffeured, carpooled and did lunches mostly by himself on Friday.

This is the only picture I snapped all week.  Matt and I went out to celebrate our anniversary at Eddie V's.  It was a fantastic dinner and night out.

Thank you again Nonna and V.  We loved every minute of you being here!
