New outfit

A friend of mine from Montana sent us the adorable outfit last summer when Morgan Leigh was born.  I found it today in the closet and thought it looked like the perfect comfy dress for a summer day.  Thank you sweet Jessica!

VBS

We had a blast this year at VBS!  Our church doesn't have a program yet, and teamed up with another in the diocese.  They do an amazing job and their director writes all the curriculum every year.  I offered to volunteer and somehow managed to be a teacher in the 4 year old room.

This year was a circus theme and they hired all kinds of performers to start off the morning.  Ponies, unicyclists, clowns, gymnasts and more!  So fun.
Here is a Eli from our class having the dog do tricks.

The clown doing some magic for our whole class on day 2.

She had some of the girls dance as ballerinas and Anna Grace was thrilled to be one of them.  They also walked a tight rope and tried to juggle.  Very entertaining!

This was by far my favorite performance (but I missed the gymnasts!)  They had a performer on a horse.  She was great, handstands and all kinds of stunts.  We were outside for just a few minutes, and I was so glad the rest of VBS was indoors!

And here are the kids at the final performance for the parents.  They are singing to the tune of "I've Been Working on the Railroad", "I am Going to the Circus!"

Happy Day Cupcake!

Our little cupcake turned one today!  We are celebrating her special day in a little over a week.  So, today was pretty low-key.

We went to the doctor today for a check-up, 4 shots, and a finger poke.  She measured 28.5" (30th percentile) weighed 16 lbs 11 oz (less than 5th percentile) and her head measured 17.5".

While we waited  for daddy to get home for dinner.  I gave Anna Grace some goldfish to share.  Morgan Leigh let go of the chair and walked over to get a snack.  She took her first real steps last night unassisted.  I have a short video of that to upload tomorrow...

Daddy suggested what he thinks Morgan Leigh's favorite dinner is, pizza.  I don't know that I really diagree.  She loves her bread and cheese, can we say mommy's girl?   Here she is with the crust.

We have had an amazing year with this little wonder.  She has blessed us in so many ways and we look forward to every new day with her as part of our family!  We love you cupcake!

Father's Day

Daddy opted for Silver Fox this year for a Father's Day celebration.  We brought both girls with us and had a wonderful dinner.  They both did exceptionally well!  AG made some priceless comments comparing Silver Fox to Chimy's.  For instance, "Chimy's doesn't have white table cloths." and "at Chimy's we have to talk really loud!"
We hope that daddy felt celebrated all weekend, because that was our intention.  He is a wonderful Father to our precious girls!

Last bottles

We are on the downhill slope of the bottles in our house.  (I can't believe that Morgan Leigh is that big already!)  Anyway, I had a girl's night last night and Matt let Anna Grace do the feeding again.  He thought to snap a picture as this will likely be her last time doing this.  I love the shot because her leg in the air is how she eats most of the time...

And then there's the silly that comes out at bedtime.  I hear that they giggled a lot on the bed while I was gone :)

New chairs

Morgan Leigh has found Anna Grace's rocking chair.  She giggles and laughs, it is too cute!

So today I moved the (dreaded) Elmo chair out so that she might be able to crawl in herself.  This was exactly the age Anna Grace was when we got the silly chair.  Looks like it may be a while before I can get rid of it again!  Darn!

Dishwasher

AG asked if she could wash dishes today.  I hate that task - so I'll glady let her try!  The kitchen was really wet afterwards, but oh well.

Ballet Class

Anna Grace had her first ballet class yesterday.  She was thrilled and had a fantastic time.

Matching!

Most days Anna Grace would prefer to wear something that matches Morgan Leigh.  I finished her dress a while ago, but it has taken me some time to complete Morgan's.  In fact, my mom did the final work on it when they were here last week.
I love the smiles in this shot as daddy interupts.

Last day

We went to the stockyards today to watch the daily cattle drive.  I knew that Jordie wanted to go down there and walk around.  Behind Nonna and AG are the mounted police.  I have joked it's one of the only places left where you have to wait for a horse to cross the street.  It was a fun outing though.

Aunt Kim and Anna Grace.
V and AG.

Anna Grace got to pick out a candy at the store.  My how 25cents can make her smile!
A quarter for the carousel as well.  She asked Jordie to hop on and she did.  Too funny!

Nonna and Haleigh waiting for the "parade" as Anna Grace kept calling it.
Anna  Grace got to pet the horse named Charlie.  The cowboy that was riding him was so sweet to bring him over and let her pet him.

The cousins.

And lastly, the entire family.  Thank you so much for driving to see us.  We missed you from the moment you left and have priceless memories from another visit.  We love you all!!

Fun and games

Here is Anna Grace learning to play ladderball with Grandpa V.

Then AG conned Jordie into running through the sprinkler with her.
Morgan  Leigh was so exhausted that we had to wake her up to go to dinner.  I hate to do that, but then she would be up really late in a vicious cycle.

Here are Anna Grace's nachos from dinner.  The girls loved that they were bigger than she was.

And ML and AG crawling all over Jordie.  Another fun day!

Day 2

Aunt Kim helped Anna Grace get an whole audience ready for her singing performance.  She managed to not be in the picture, but I think they had so much fun!

The girls posing for a picture in daddy's chair!

Then Haleigh took a turn with the Legos.  It was so funny to watch Anna Grace "flex" her muscles to break the tower.
We even managed a trip to Sweet Sammies this afternoon. Jordie and Haleigh love Bluebell and it was the perfect afternoon treat!

Jordie gets the prize shot of the trip.  I love this picture of my dad.

And a picture of Aunt Kim with the girlie girl.

Family visit

My sister in-law called to say she was bringing her girls for a short visit.  We were so EXCITED.  In fact, I helped AG write on the sidewalk and proceeded to lock us all out of the house.  (I was excited too!)

We jumped right into playing with them as soon as they arrived. Here is Haleigh with my girls, technically she's their cousin.

Here's a shot with aunt Kim.  Anna Grace adores her for so many reasons.  Aunt Kim sends books throughout the year and AG loves to find the packages with her name and a new book.

And a shot of Jordan with Morgan Leigh.  I have tried and tried to sort through all of these pictures.  There are just too many good ones.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Tom!

Gigi and Grandpa came up for a visit yesterday.  We celebrated grandpa's birthday and Anna Grace "helped" decorate the cake.  We snapped this great picture right before bed time for the girls.

Gigi brought these great sunglasses for the girls.  Anna Grace likes to leave hers on more than Morgan Leigh, but I get one of ML before she flipped them off.

Mundane tasks

I was changing sheets today for our marathon of company visiting.  Yeah!  Anyway, who knew that these ordinary tasks could be so much fun.  ML LOVES a bed.  She doesn't get to hang out there very much because it's stressful on me.  But she is so happy there.  She cut her 3rd tooth yesterday (top left), and I think the top left may poke through today.  :)

Anna Grace wanted to share in the action.  Little girls giggles...aaahhh...what a way to enjoy the task of making a bed!

Bridge tourneys

I got a call last week asking if Nonna and V could come for a quick weekend so V could play bridge.  We always welcome the company, and they arrived EARLY Saturday morning.  V played bridge and we had Nonna all to ourselves.

I don't know that I snapped a single picture while they were here.    I did get this one with the "let-down" after the visit.  Thank you for coming and wearing out my girls.  Morgan Leigh took a 3+ hour nap and this is rare for AG anymore.
