Coffee date

It doesn't take much to convince V to stop at his favorite coffee spot.  Taking these two was a treat for everyone.

Pie making

We waited for Nonna and V to arrive to start making the pies.  AG is getting to be quite the little helper, leveling off the flour and everything :)

More girls!

We got a special treat to see these sweet friends for lunch today.  Matt used to see their daddy about once a week for lunch.  Things changed in both of their work schedules and they can't seem to do that anymore, so we squeezed in lunch with everyone today.  We must make plans to see them for more than an hour soon!

Fresh rolls

As you can see the rolls were ready after dinner, my grandmother would never approve of that!  But I think there is nothing like one hot from the oven....so dig in!

First batch

It is the time of year to start making cinnamon rolls by the dozens.  AG has been promoted to reading the recipes.  Which I find very entertaining for recipes I know by heart!  Happy cinnamon roll day.

Roller skating giraffe

ML asked this morning if I was going to make it in time for her feast.  I had thought about skipping it, but decided I couldn't miss when I was asked :)  She was happily eating her feast when I arrived.  She chose her indian name to be roller skating giraffe.  (They are asked to pick a movement, for example running or jumping. Then asked to pick an animal.)

Walkathon

Today was scheduled to be our first walkathon for the elementary school.  The weather forced it to be cancelled, however we still had a huge assembly planned.  ML was excited to help set it up.

And to rock out with the cheerleaders and the high school band backstage!  I admit it was hard not to get all the excitement.  We stayed for the whole pep rally and the awards before I took her up to school late.

Loved

Someone asked today how the girls were doing with the dog.  She is very well-loved.  I knew that Anna Grace was ready for a pet and some of the responsibility.  What I was unprepared for was that ML (previously scared of dogs) would be the one that sits and pets her for hours.  Taylor has been a great addition and is already learning our routines about the dinner table and the furniture.

New shoes

I promised to take ML for new shoes.  The velcro had worn out so badly on her last pair that she couldn't walk.  But look who got new shoes too.  They remind me so much of the 80's, but she is thrilled!

New addition

Meet Taylor, our new addition.  The girls are smitten!  She came over this morning and AG was so excited to be home when she got here.

We even got a custom mat for her bowls from Gigi.  She is a sweet dog and we are learning things together.  First on my list is to make sure that we don't use the sofa as an object to leap over.  :)

Aggies vs. Miss. St

My parents usually pick one game a year to attend.  This year we decided to bring the girls and stay the weekend.  ML took my ticket and AG and I hung out at the tailgate.

We had arrangements in case she didn't make it through the whole game.  She leaned over to Matt at the end and said, "thank you for bringing me to that aggie game daddy!"  Man, does she know the way to sweet talk him?!?

But she missed out on the s'mores because it was dark when they got back to the site.  In fact, I think Anna Grace was the only one that got one!

It was a great weekend!

Giggles and hugs

I don't even know what prompted the love fest tonight at dinner.

Race cars

Ever since ML was little, she would crawl up on Matt's lap to watch NASCAR races.  She has had favorite drivers, and I know that Matt is excited to share race day with someone that enjoys it!

After church today, while we were completely exhausted, he and ML went to the race.  She got in the car and said, I'm going for Danica and the M&M car today.

She was so excited about being at the race with Matt!

Matt brought her home and she hardly moved from this spot.  What an exhausting weekend it has been, but we didn't miss anything!

Christ the Redeemer

We have such a busy weekend and it is the culmination of so many things.  Tonight we are up at church for our "dress rehearsal".  This is the sunday school room that a dear friend of mine and I have been working on.

One of the priceless things about moving into a permanent space, is seeing everyone's talents on display.  Another friend offered us a canvas, you can see it in the middle of the picture.  We gave her an idea about the stars with the verse from Psalms 147:4.  "He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name."   Her artwork is amazing and I literally cried when I saw it all together.

My girls do not remember a time when we didn't meet for church in a ballroom complete with a disco ball.  We have been talking a lot about this transition.  My girls have been up there often to help decorate and furnish the space.  So I snapped this picture of ML telling her sweet friend about their "new room".
