Ballet pictures

We spent our afternoon getting ready for ballet pictures today.  We have our hair slicked back into a bun and had a list of makeup to apply.

This was the final product.  The idea of full makeup for her about made me cry.  I just have issues about her growing up too fast, and makeup is only part of it.  She looked beautful though, and we can hardly wait for the performance.

Easter Eggs

Morgan Leigh has had a stomach bug off and on for a few days now.  She was so ill on Easter that we never opened the eggs to see what she got.  Today we sat out in front and she was so excited to find M&M's.

Anna Grace happily sat and ate some candy too.

Easter and First Communion

We woke up this morning and started hunting Easter eggs in the back yard.

ML quickly found some of her pink eggs.

Anna Grace, as always was ready to pose for a picture.

We snapped one quick one and...

then she laid down on me.  She obviously isn't feeling well still!  And then she got sick again.  Poor thing.  We needed to quickly revise our plans for the day so that she could rest.

Anna Grace is very excited that today is her First Communion.  We went to a class to prepare and had homework.  She was excited to learn the information.  She understood so much of the lesson and retained enough to explain her homework to daddy and Gigi.  She has gotten so big!  Congratulations on your big day Peanut, we love you!

She was in the front row of church this morning with all of the other children taking their first communion.  Matt stayed home with ML and got her down for a nap before coming to church.  He made it just in time to see her take communion.  (He also set the table for our Easter meal as well, such a good man!)

Then we were off to hunt more eggs at church.

And to release the butterflies.  He is risen!  I love the visual of the butterflies for the children and the butterflies hung around today after they were released as well.

And our Easter picture for this year.  Morgan Leigh is still in bed ill.  We hope she will be better tomorrow!

Happy Easter!  We hope that your day was filled with many of His blessings as well.

Sick and soccer

Morgan Leigh has been off and on sick for the past two days now.  :(  When she isn't physically ill, you would never know she even feels bad.  Poor thing!

We took the bumpers out of the crib to wash them and because they were dry I had them in the laundry basket.  She quickly found them and I found her like this.

While ML and I were at home, everyone else loaded up for the soccer game.   Anna Grace was super excited when her dear friends Tyler and Weston were there.

Good Friday

Gigi and grandpa Tom are here for a visit this weekend.  We will be celebrating Easter and Anna Grace's first communion.  We started dying our eggs almost as soon as I got the eggs home.

Anna Grace loves the dying process.  She usually would sit there long enough to do dozens, but we did a single dozen this year :)

Gigi brought Easter bags for the girls.  AG is always excited to dig right in.

Morgan Leigh didn't feel well this morning and has been sick off an on.  (Which is why she's shirtless)  But she looked in her bag and found lip gloss.  Her own lip gloss!  She stopped looking for the other things as soon as she found it.

Anna Grace and Gigi put a picture together with all of the Holy Week stories.

And finally enjoying the coloring book in her bag.  Thanks for all the goodies Gigi.

Easter party

The party started with an egg hunt.  Literally, "ready, set, go" was said and this was the chaos that followed.  It was over in seconds.

AG posed for some pictures while a friend had ML.  When I came over, one of the sweet boys had given ML and egg and a marshmallow :)  No wonder why she wants to be with the big kids.

And lastly at the pizza party.  (Take notice of her hair today.  She was quite specific about how she wanted it done today!)

Bluebonnets

I was determined we could get some more bluebonnet pictures.  It was a good break from the long drive home, even if it was horribly windy!

Just for Jen we looked for a spot really close to the highway :)

Happy Spring y'all!

Saturday

Anna Grace finally got Nonna to make the garden stones with her.

At the parade yesterday, AG was really disappointed the eggs were gone by the time we went to get one.  So Nonna and I bought 2 at the festival that we went to this morning.

Surprisingly, we got two fragile cascarones home without incident.  AG did her sister first and then I helped her do her own.

She thought they were so pretty!

Then there was time to take lots of pictures.  LOTS!!  I hope I don't bore you, it was just too hard to choose.

Our sweet, sweet girls!

Then they chalked out a hopscotch, which ML was hilarious at!

A cuddle with her Nonna.

How is she getting this big?!?

Silly naked time, after dinner and happy hour.

Crazy girl just has to imitate her sister.  It was a wonderful trip.  Short, as they always are, but summer is almost here and I plan to be there A LOT.  Love you Nonna and V!

Battle of Flowers Parade

One of my new favorite parts of Fiesta is the Battle of Flowers Parade.  In high school, we were always in the parade and I had never ever watched one.  A few years ago, my sweet friend invited us to her dad's parade party.  It has spoiled me rotten.  I will not watch the parade any other way.  This year Anna Grace got to come with us, and here we are eating our lunch.

She was enamored with the court and gladly yelled, "show me your shoes" to all of the girls.  :)

She wanted to spend almost every moment here on the trailer watching the floats and bands.  Thank you again Jenn for inviting us along.  It was a fabulous party!

Day 1

Anna Grace is always anxious to do everything right away.  We had a lot planned for the visit, so we were trying to slow down a little.  Here is AG feeding the fish.

Later the markers came out and ML had a blast!  We usually use Color Wonder when at home....can you see why?  In between there was swimming and the library too.  Busy first day!

SA trip

We walked in the door tonight and had a cake to celebrate Matt.  Although we celebrated yesterday with red velvet cupcakes, presents and cards, today is the official day.  My mom made a cake and we sang and ate.

Crawfish boil

We had an impromptu crawfish boil this weekend.  The kids even held one (after Cathy bribed them, pay up Cathy!)

It was not nearly as spicy as Matt or I would have chosen, but it was good.  It was great for our first time...here's to many more!!

More soccer

We had another soccer game today.  Anna Grace is starting to get the hang of it.  But she hates to be aggresive for the ball.  I think she prefers warm-up and snacks.

I love this team shot!  Go Fire Ants!

Bluebonnets

We went in search of bluebonnets this morning.  There are hardly any good patches that aren't near the highway that I will dare by myself.  I am hoping that we get a good patch on our way to SA next week.
