Crazy ideas

Some how the girls convinced my mom this would be so fun today.  So they set up a lemonade stand.  They were shocked that not many stopped.  Thank you to my friends that responded to my desperate texts for customers :)

Fast friends

I hear everything about these sweet friends.  Most days they are all she talks about.  Blessed to know these sweet girls!  Today - I was at lunch when a friend texted this to me from their lunchtime at school.  It made my day to see her in her element!

Exhausting

School routines always make us really exhausted the first week back.  They showered early and got in pj's before dinner.  While I fixed dinner AG read a new library book.

Cookies!

I started this tradition when AG started Kinder.  We make a giant cookie and they can eat it until they don't want anymore.  AG always shared it with ML and over the summer Morgan Leigh asked if she got her own.







I didn't think we really needed two, but this is her big day too!  I hear it was a great first day for everyone!!

First day of Kinder and Third!

It's time!  School starts today!  She is excited and ready!  Mom - well, not so much!

It's hard to believe that Anna Grace enters 3rd grade this year!  Where does the time go?

We walked quite a ways from the car this morning.  Morgan Leigh didn't look back.  She was confident and ready for this new chapter!

She walked at least four steps in front of us the whole way in.  She is confident and ready to start this new chapter.

We dropped Anna Grace in her classroom first.  Her sweet friend is sharing her desk grouping - so all is right in the world.
















Morgan Leigh quickly found her place at a table and started righting her name in "rosa".  Already in Spanish....We went to the cafeteria with coffee and I almost made it without shedding a tear.  Almost....

Last night

This is the last night of summer.  School starts tomorrow.  We always read "Twas the Night before Kindergarten".  I was a mess the whole way through.  Matt couldn't read it tonight....Tomorrow, Morgan Leigh will start Kindergarten.  Her teacher gave each child a vial of "Jitter Glitter" and a poem.  When I came in to kiss her goodnight the glitter is all over her.  On her cheeks, her arms and in her hair.  She will love that when she wakes tomorrow.

Back to school celebration

We went to Del Frisco's tonight for dinner.  The hostess asked if we were celebrating anything.  I replied, "Isn't this how everyone celebrates back to school."  She looked at me like I was nuts and said, "Ummm No!"  Well, this may become our new tradition!  We let the girls pick their entree to split and Morgan Leigh was quick to say the shrimp.  When dinner was served though she was eyeing my plate.  She asked to share my "cake" (aka a filet).  She ate more than half of my dinner.  Sweet ML - she never misses a moment for a laugh and that cake was delicious!  Here's to a great new school year!

Best of summer, part 2

Morgan Leigh's choice was painting pottery at Van Grow.  We met several friends there this afternoon.  So fun to see everyone!

Best of Summer

Today and tomorrow we are redoing the girls favorite things from this summer.  (It was only limited to what we did in Ft. Worth, even though they both chose Colorado....)  AG's choice was Burger's Lake.  Daddy took the day and joined us.

And then we found a classmate of AG's.  Such a treat to see her too!

Cousins

We met our cousins at the pool this afternoon.  They spent a good portion of time under the bucket that dumps water over and over.

Meet the teacher

My sweet little ones are so excited to meet their teachers!  Anna Grace has a new to our school teacher this year.

Morgan Leigh's teacher learned her name last year.  That's a definite advantage to tagging along while I volunteer!  It's going to be an awesome year!

Shake it off!

We set the alarm on the calendar so that we wouldn't forget to watch the Taylor Swift live stream today.  The girls stood patiently and watched the countdown for the last 5 minutes before it started.  Obsessed!  I cannot overstate how obsessed they are!

Earrings!

It's finally time to change our earrings and she was excited to put in the ones that Nonna gave her for her birthday.

Silly

She is playing with that bbq pizza....silly girl!

Helpers

I'm not sure this is what they signed up for as we near the end of summer, but they were so helpful.  We will decorate the bulletin board and the teacher's lounge this afternoon.  We may have to stop at Quick Trip for a treat after all this.

YES!

I said yes to another school project yesterday.  The girls were excited to help me craft this board this morning for the teacher's lounge at school.  Crafting fun!

Curlys

Gigi and Grandpa are here tonight.  The girls know that may mean dessert. 

School Shoes

AG has been looking and looking for red keds.  We finally found some and she chose those for her school shoes.  My little Taylor Swift obsessed girl, we will see is she takes them off :)

ML night

AG had a sleep over tonight with her friend.  ML got us all to herself and asked for Chuy's for dinner....of course!

Burger's Lake

It is one of my favorite summer spots in Fort Worth.  We met some friends there and enjoyed the day.  This was definitely high on my summer bucket list!

Volunteering

Our sweet friends asked us to join them packing bags for their food pantry today.  We helped in every way we could.  These sweet friends loved helping!

Foodie!

 She is my little foodie!  We sampled ice cream while at CM the other day.  She had her choice of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or lavender.  The guy serving was thrilled she chose the lavender and then asked if she was a foodie like him.  Then we picked up lunch and she picked out the Vietnamese Banh Mi.  They are delicious, good choice sweet girl.
