Awards ceremony

Today was Anna Grace's award ceremony at school.  I was so concentrated on snapping pictures, I didn't even hear her awards, oops!

Take two for the actual certificates in the classroom.  She was recognized as an accelerated reader, a spanish reader, an E citizenship, for her math skills, 6 hr. reading challenge, junk the junk food and as most dependable classmate.  It's been a great year!

Then they had snacks and we watched a slideshow.  AG pulled a chair up so that ML could sit right next to her.  She is such a great big sister!

Nap time

It seems I have to interrupt ML's nap almost daily lately.  Poor thing!  We have 4 more days of carpool line after today and then she can sleep as late as she wants!

Gigi's iPad

I am pretty sure that given the opportunity, ML would happily sit with an Ipad all day...It was so great to have Gigi and grandpa here for a few days!

Patio weather

While Gigi and Grandpa were here, Matt worked the Colonial tournament again.  We met him at a new spot to Fort Worth.  They have some pretty good dishes, and a great outside space, just beware of the $12 margaritas!

Museum

We took Gigi for the first time to our museum.  I recently bought a membership thinking we could escape some of the head this summer here. 

It has been re-opened for a few years and it seems every time we are go they are changing up the exhibits.  It was a great way to spend our morning!

Our turtle!

Tonight was our Spanish program.  I had several different times listed on all the paperwork we have gotten.  I was reassured by our teacher's asst. that it would start at 6:30.  She was wrong, it started and 6 and I was the only one there.  I was frantically texting and calling the house to get everyone up to school.  Matt, Gigi, Grandpa and ML arrived just in time.  We have practiced and practiced, but apparently some of the kids got stage fright.  They each had their own animal and a line.  They cut that whole part and only sang a song together.  In all the whoopla, we managed to get the SLR camera there without a card!  Sheesh!  AG did take a minute to assess all the other puppets for the show and thought hers was the best.  I know we are biased, but I do agree :)

Cruising

Matt took the girls for a cruise today while I was out running errands.  It's still nice enough to ride top down if you go early.  Then it was time to head to a friend's home for a crawfish boil.  Great Saturday!

Booster seat!

We said good-bye to AG's car seat this week.  At her least doctor's appt, he said I should keep her in the car seat as long as possible.  I lasted way longer than many of our friends....which is a hard conversation with her.  So today was the day!  She looks so big in it!

Turtles

We are getting ready for AG's end of the year program in spanish.  She was assigned a turtle and we colaborated to make this little one.  Check back for lots of pictures on performance day!

First Friends

Is this not the cutest shot!?!  We have had a wonderful year of bible study with some amazing women.  The girls have thoroughly enjoyed themselves too.  Today was our last meeting for the spring, and we will miss them this summer!  The girls were grinning ear to ear for the whole time.  We walked away and ML announced that we "needed" a swing.  I told her to ask her daddy, who just might oblige the request.

Stretching

Today during exercise class they played with a parachute.  ML got her handle and followed all the instructions (quite unusual!)

Cherries

This is a terrible picture.  I was really trying to get how much Kim was forced to play Cherries, over and over and over.  My brother had to work nearby and she tagged along to play with us.  ML took full advantage of having her here.  And not to leave Brad out she announced, "We NEED you uncle Brad." several times after he got back tonight.  I could tell he melted a little over that :)  We loved having the company and hope that they can do that more!

Mother's Day

I feel pretty spoiled today.  They all made a pretty big deal of mother's day, starting with breakfast in bed.  We went to church, out to brunch and waited for my brother and his wife to arrive.  What a wonderful day to celebrate how blessed I truly am!

Jackson's Birthday

I love to meet one of my high school friends occasionally for wine.  Because of Matt's travel, it's been a while.  We hopped on the chance to celebrate her son's birthday this weekend.  Funny thing is that AG was all about the party, petting the animals and riding the pony.  Anyone recognize anything else in the background of this shot? :)

The pony rides quite possibly were the best part.  It was a great party!

This was as close as ML would get to the bunnies and touch them.  And this was minutes before they packed up all the animals.  I had a great time catching up with Jen for a minute and can't wait to have wine with her again SOON!

School days countdown

We made a coundown chart yesterday for Anna Grace's last day of school.  We crosssed of #16 today! 

Bengal tiger

Today was the perfect day to be at the zoo.  Even if there were a zillion buses.  We braved the crowds because it was an outside kind of day! 

Home work

Morgan Leigh was doing "homework" today on her computer.  She was doing exceptionally well at recognizing all of her letters.

Freebirds and movies

Tonight we went to get take out for dinner while waiting for Matt's super delayed flight.  Freebirds just opened right by the house and we took the opportunity to bring home daddy's favorite dinner.

The girls got to share their own burrito tonight.  They usually just get tacos with their choice of things on them.  It was all smiles for the whole evening.  It did help that we ate in the front room and watched a movie too!

Napping

Morgan Leigh is still adjusting to no rails on her crib.  Most days she plays for a little bit and then when I wake her up she is on top of toys, books and all kinds of things. 

Fun Day!

Today was fun day at AG's school.  I volunteered from 8:30-10.  Instead of heading home after drop off, I stayed in the classroom.  Anna Grace knows most of the dance moves to the evolution of dance, we all find it very entertaining.  To see it multiplied by 22 students, was beyond imaginable for my start to the day!

I was assigned to the bowling area.  They obvioulsy know how to use my talents !  Here's AG with her turn.  It was exhausting and SO much fun!

May Day

One of my favorite traditions growing up was delivering May Day baskets.  It always meant that school was almost out and summer was near.  Morgan Leigh and I delivered ours during the day.  We took AG after school today with a few of them.  Happy May Day!
