Anna Grace-isms

There are some of my favorite things that Anna grace spouts off lately.

I drive a Taco - Matt drives a hiccup truck.
She sings Harsity's Borns to the Aggie War Hymn.
She still says chatpa for ketchup, the other day she said ketchup and it made me a little sad.
The other night during bedtime she told Matt she "had a dilemna", Matt asked what it was and she replied, "I really love my baby sister!"
She likes to sing "Pants on the Ground" with her buddy at school. (He has older siblings - so I am sure that's how he knows the words....she knows them now too!)
Today Matt said, "let's go scope it out" and she replied, "I don't have a scoper!".
When the USA/Canada hockey game was on, she used her olympic torch from school to chant USA all through the house. When the final shot was scored, she asked "where did he have to get a shot - and did it hurt?"

Chef AG

Anna Grace got to make a chef's hat at school Friday. She helped stir up a batch of biscuits today.

Sophie's quilt

I have spent the last 10 days in a mad rush to finish a quilt I had started. Our dear friends, Grant and Amy, are expecting a baby. I started a quilt, but when the invitation for the shower came I went into sheer panic mode.
Here is the happy couple. Anna Grace spoiled the suprise of the quilt by asking the night before the shower where Miss Amy's quilt was. I guess the lesson here is there are no secrets with a 3 year old. I can't wait to see pictures of little Sophie on the quilt! Congratulations y'all!

Diaper change

Anna Grace is usually a huge helper with everything to do with Morgan Leigh. She wanted to put the diaper by herself.

8 months

We have had such a great month with Morgan Leigh. She is getting to be so expressive. She reaches for me now when she wants to be picked up and will give out the sweetest, slobberiest sugars. ML often gives me five when she is eating and still plays with my hair when she eats or gets tired. She has an infectious giggle and loves to be tickled.

Here is Morgan Leigh with a gorgeous bracelet from her godparents. She has had a rough couple of days this week. She had her first round of a stomach bug that left her throwing up for hours on Monday. She seems almost back to normal now.

Jeff's Birthday

We got to go for a birthday party this weekend. It's always a lot of fun at their get-togethers, especially the fabulous food.

Anna Grace found one of Stoney's toys and was her usual ham of a performer. Thanks again for having us y'all!

Random Saturday

We are having a pretty laid back Saturday so far. I snapped this of Morgan Leigh in an old headband of Anna Grace's. She has surprisingly left in on most of the day.
Anna Grace is so great at putting puzzles together. Here she is doing this one almost all by herself.

Two fingers

Morgan Leigh never took to a pacifier, but early on found her two fingers. She sucks on them upside down. Matt was quick enough to get a picture of it finally. She's usually too much of a ham for the camera.

Peek-a-boo

Most people play peek-a-boo by covering their own face for a child. Not us. Morgan Leigh loves to cover her own face and giggles when you uncover her. We have got to get this on video!

Fancy girls

Tyler and Weston stopped by for a short time this afternoon. We were supposed to have a play date last Friday, but the snow cancelled our plans. It was great to see them! Thanks for coming to play.

Be my valentine

I mentioned before that the girls have gotten so many generous valentine gifts. Nonna & V, Gigi & Grandpa, Aunt Kim & Uncle Brad, and Great Grandma. It was a package every day. Thank you everyone for thinking of them! We went to church today and then went back again this evening for a family dinner. It was a wonderful way to spend the day.

Morgan Leigh has had a busy few days. She cut her first tooth on Wed. and the second one Friday. I think she may even be working on one on top now...

Daddy did manage to snap a shot of their matching red. We hope y'all had a wonderful day too!

And more snow...

The tree limb count is up to 7, but at least we have power. The neighbors across the street have been without for 12 hours and counting. Here are a few of our house and trees. It is gorgeous and peaceful out.

Here's a shot of AG in the backyard.

Here is AG with the neighbor girl. They were sort of having a snowball fight. Only in Texas would you do that in pink cowboy boots. That's what all three had on...
And lastly, I got AG to make a snow angel, but didn't have the camera ready when she was laying down. Can you tell what it is even?

More snow!

Check out the carrot nose now! I can literally hear the tree branches breaking all around us. Our 30 year old oak tree has lost 3 branches so far and still counting obviously.

Happy Valentine's day

We have received letters and boxes and all kinds of Valentine's Day things for the girls. Gigi sent a box that came today and the girls enjoyed the gifts so much!

Here's Anna Grace showing off her new dress. She later asked if she could wear it to church.
Morgan Leigh with her new toy.
And shortly thereafter, ML playing on Anna Grace's piano book. Anna Grace is a wonderful big sister and never questions whether to share, she would like to show her how to do it.

Snow day!

I have such fond memories of the snow from growing up. Lots of sledding, building snowmen, and snowball fights followed by hot chocolate. Isn't it funny that none of them involve being cold?
AG got to experience some snow today. We missed the one at Christmas time here, but today is a gorgeous snow fall. There is just enough wet snow to make a good snowman, but she lost interest before the base was made. She was insistent that he have a nose though. :)
Happy snow day, y'all!

First tooth!

Today I reached into Morgan Leigh's mouth to try to get a piece of paper. I didn't find the paper, but I did find a tooth on the bottom left. In fact, if you zoom in you might be able to see it too!
I guess I should have guessed yesterday when I snapped this picture. She's 33 weeks old now.
I also snapped this picture of the girls this afternoon. I have to say that carpool pickup is one of my favorite times of the day. Anna Grace gets in full of energy about a wonderful day of school and Morgan Leigh sits up to listen, literally. Then for the 2 blocks that we drive home they just giggle back and forth at each other. What a joy they are.

So big!

It was our first trip into a store without the car seat. It makes me a little sad actually...

My girls

We ran a lot of errands to fill up our time. We never seem to have a hard time keeping busy. I shopped for some needed items and the girls were happy to oblige. Of course, I had Nonna to help entertain as well.

This was one of my favorite conversations from the week. Anna Grace asked Nonna for some milk to which Nonna said, "what's the magic word?" Anna Grace said, "fracka, sparkle, fairy freckles!" Mom and I burst out into laughter and AG was so confused. It is the "magic" word on Sesame street to make Abby's freckels appear.

Grandpa V came on Saturday, just in time for some wine (there's always wine!) and dinner. It's good my girls are loved! Thanks for coming Nonna and V, it always goes too fast!

AG styled pigtails

We have had quite a whirlwind week. We started the week with a trip to Round Rock for a visitation/funeral. I think we are both glad that Matt was able to go, but is sure put a different spin on the whole week. While in Round Rock, we picked up Nonna so she could visit us while Grandpa V played bridge all week.

That gave AG a whole 5 days of Nonna time. She started the first afternoon playing hair salon (if you can really call it that!). Nonna let her go to town on her hair...
and put two outrageous pigtails on AG too. They have such a fun time together! Outrageous hair and all.
