Healthy choices

We left Meet the teacher and had a few errands to run and it completely overlapped lunch.  So being the good mom, I let her choose "yogurt" with fruit.

She was very sweet while we were out on our errands.  As we were walking into a store she said, "Soon I get to be at my school with all my friends. I will be so happy, but you will be all alone!"  I will miss my sweet girl when she starts back!

Meet the Teacher

Morgan Leigh has been patient this week waiting for her turn to start school.  As you can see, she will enter the four year old class this year.

We were both excited to see many friends from last year and meet several new ones as well.  It's going to be a great year!

Reading time

Anna Grace spent her reading time cuddled up with Morgan Leigh today.  They read one of our bible story books cover to cover while I prepared dinner.  Such a sweet shared moment.

Cookie cake

It is one of our favorite first day of school traditions.  Yummy!

Furniture delivery!

It has been a busy busy day.  We delivered Anna Grace to school and rushed home for the second furniture delivery.  Our North Carolina trip purchases are finally being delivered.  ML was quick to pose on the new sofa.  It's not a great picture, so maybe you should come see it in person!

First day of Second Grade

 We are starting this year a little differently.  We had a meeting a few weeks ago to say that they hadn't hired a teacher for her class and we would be starting the year with a sub.  The principal was trying her best though, and she will start after Labor Day.  Anna Grace is still so excited to get back and see her friends again!

 Saying the above, 2 moms from the class and I went up Friday to try to get the room ready.  It's far from done but at least the textbooks are out and in the desks.  What a job!  My sweet little girls in Anna Grace's new room.  This is going to be another amazing year from her!  Love you peanut!

Summer is over

It is officially our last day of summer.  Nothing like frozen hot chocolate to finish it off.  It's been a great few months!  As my niece would say, "memories made".  We will certainly check that off our bucket list too!

Daddy's night

I try to meet a high school friend of mine every so often and it gives Matt a night with his girls.  Tonight they walked to our ice cream shop.

Bucket list

We made a list of summer activities and we are trying to cram the last few in.  It wouldn't be summer without Sweet Sammies!

Cruising

It is unseasonable nice outside.  We spent today outside for happy hour and the neighbor joined us for a drink while the girls cruised up and down the street.

Old friends

This weekend is Matt's reunion and we aren't going. He instead invited one of his classmates and college roommates over for dinner.  It was so great to see them again.

 They live close, but with three boys their lives are hectic.  So we don't get together often.

But their boys are just the sweetest!  So polite and they sat and played Chutes and Ladders and Candy land with my girls.  They can come whenever they want!

Lunch date

We picked up daddy from work this morning and headed to Freebirds for lunch!  #summerbucketlist

Deliveries

The first of the North Carolina furniture has arrived.  We are so thrilled!  The girls call in the comfy chair.

Monsters

My girls are a little obsessed with new clothes, especially swim suits.  We shopped today and Matt told me I have created "monsters".  Maybe, but they're pretty cute monsters who love swimsuits, new clothes, and shoes!

Nona Tata

One of my favorite italian spots in Fort Worth is this tiny little place, not open on Saturdays and no reservations.  We got a sitter and so did Matt's sister.  We had a lovely evening with just the adults.

It happens to be next door to one of Matt's favorite places, so we couldn't leave without a stop in there too.  What a fun night!

Sleep overs

Anna Grace has asked to have several sleep overs this summer.  One of our sweet friends stayed tonight and we loved having her.  She enjoys crafts just as much as my girls and was such a delight to have around.  We hope she comes back many more times!

Spanish lessons

I was in the kitchen doing dishes today when I heard a little Spanish lesson in the front room.  I love to hear AG speak, and to hear her teaching ML, that made my day!

Coffee ground mask

I had the television on today and somebody had the idea to make a coffee ground mask.  Anna Grace wanted to try it immediately.  Silly girl!

Sewing lessons

Today we sat down and had a sewing lesson.  Anna Grace was excited to make herself a shirt and the tie.  It was on our summer fun pinterest board and our time to cross things off is dwindling quickly.

Hairstyle

She's seven now and has strong opinions of how her hair should look.  She asked for this brain into a ponytail before church today.  ML had to have hers the same.  :)

New hairstyles

AG has gotten pretty good at braiding her own hair.  It makes for some interesting hairstyles though!
