Twas the Night Before Christmas

We finally got season tickets to Casa.  It is one of the best things in the city to do with kids.  And we finally bought the whole season instead of a single show at a time.  Tonight was our first show and we all were ready for some Christmas fun!

Anna Grace was on the aisle where the enter and exit stage to dance in the aisles etc.  Near the end, she cried.  She cried big ol' tears because it was a happy ending.  It was such a fun night and a great way to get some Christmas spirit.

Grateful

We have a tradition to make gratitude turkeys in our home during the month of November.  This year I had them group the family onto a single feather.  (It got so drawn out last year that it was the end of the month before we were thankful for anyone else :)  Anyway, good or bad, that's how we did it.)  Add in the days that we were out of town and we are definitely lacking on the sheer number of feathers.  I had fun with ML on hers this year.  For instance, one feather says "Evan".  When asked who that is, she shrugs her shoulders.  Funny!  Another says "wine, cupcakes, bread and pie"

Parade of Lights

We hosted Matt's side for Thanksgiving this year.  We were in Fort Worth and a few years ago we went to the parade of lights.  It's a really fun tradition that Gigi and Grandpa took all of us to this year.  I brought the big camera....and left it in the car....  That's pretty typical nowadays.

But it was such a fun night!  Thanks again Gigi and Grandpa the girls oohed and aahed through the whole parade.

Houston trip

We had to get the girls to Houston so that we could visit my niece and nephew before Thanksgiving.  I hardly got the camera out.  Here's grandpa V giving a math lesson to AG.  She has such a mind for it and it is her favorite part of homework....
When we were at Nonna and V's they taught AG to play Rummikub.  It was one of grandma Weedie's favorite games and we played it often during her winter visits.  We play a lot of games in my family!  Although Jordie and I need a third for our favorite game.

And lastly Jordie with my girls.  She sure does make them smile :)  What a fun, long weekend we had.  My sister-in-law is amazing at hosting this many people in their home!

Aggie games

The 2012 season has been an unexpected one in so many ways.  Maybe that is what makes it such a fun year!  Matt is acting like a child with unopened Christmas presents.

We rely a lot on our family, mostly Matt's parents, to get to the games.  This particular day it required taxi service for our girls from Round Rock to Houston.  We always appreciate their generosity, but this seems above and beyond!  This was at the game this afternoon.  A 2200+ person block T.  We love a good band performance, but this is one of my favorite traditions! Gig 'Em Ags!

Our pink cat

I snuck into Morgan Leigh's Thanksgivig celebration today.  I loved seeing her chosen "indian" name which was pink cat.  They were supposed to choose an animal and an action or color.

I snapped this during their prayer before their feast.  Today that consisted of Chick Fil A nuggets, a fruit and veggie tray, cookies and pumpkin pie.  She described the desserts to Matt though and said they had cake with peanut butter on it and she didn't like it!  She has the sweetest teacher and every child is just adorable!  We definitely count Miss Allison, Miss Jessica and our schools on our gratitude lists this year!

V is 75!

We all gathered in San Antonio this weekend.  It was a super quick trip for us, but we wouldn't miss it for the world.  My brother brought his 3 kids that I haven't seen in 4 years!  It's been way too long!  Here we are gathered around the cake.

The kids all helped blow out those trick candles over and over.  We love you grandpa V!

And lastly, the 3 girls.  Fiona and AG were born 4 days apart.  The three were stuck together like glue the whole weekend.  Mom bought them matching jammies for the "sleepover"  And it was a sleepover with 13 of us in one home.  What a great weekend!!

Election day

One of the perks about Matt's job is election day is a "holiday".  So he had a four day weekend.  ML wanted to take him to the museum.

And because it was gorgeous, we got the Chevelle out to pick up AG from school!

Friendship bracelets

A while back, Aunt Kim gave AG her first friendship bracelet maker for Christmas.  She finally has the hang of it and has been pumping out friendship bracelets at a really fast pace!

Dessert making!

I love to bake.  It like to make labor intensive yummy recipes.  Today we had a supper group from church and we made Matt's favorite cake.  Here's ML frosting a layer with me.

And layer two was AG's turn.

Front tooth!

Anna Grace's front tooth has been really loose for a month.  You can see in most of the October pictures that it was out of place.  She pulled it out today before a "really easy math test".
