Snow day traditions

It has become officially become a snow day tradition to make pasta on the snow days.  ML is quite the pasta maker.  She does an awesome job!

I joked that I needed it to melt so I don't gain 50 lbs.  We've made pasta, cinnamon rolls and dessert.  YIKES!

Snow day!

I love a snow day!  I especially love when they call it off in time that we all know we get to sleep in!

Dinner with friends

I literally walked in the door and walked right back out so we could head to our friends for dinner.  She and I both had our own ladies' retreats this weekend, but it was get together or wait 6 weeks.  So we went.  Such a fun night!

Ladies' retreat

As we were packing up to leave I thought we haven't snapped a single photo.  These ladies have blessed every part of my life for the last 5 years.  It was an honor to plan a retreat and grow in fellowship with each of them.  I am coming back on an incredible high.

Helpers

I had my annual ladies retreat this weekend.  Matt put the girls to work to cross something else off my "honey-do" list. ML walked through Lowe's counting to 100 in spanish.

Science Fair

It has been such a busy week!  We are just now assembling the science fair project that is due tomorrow.  I am so proud of Anna Grace - she did this all by herself!

As many of you know, growing plants is not one of my gifts.  So you can imagine how much help I was growing the tomato plants from seeds.  Good work Peanut!

Valentine's Day

One of my dear friends was born on Valentine's day.  It is so appropriate that her birthday falls on a day associated with love.  We met their family for lunch at Cane Rosso.  We ate on the patio and soaked in the sun.  The guys hung the double swing on their front tree and we headed home.

Tonight we will have a fancy dinner at home.  We have tenderloin planned and the girls have been talking all week about what they will drink out of their crystal glasses.  Happy Valentine's Day!

Charlotte's Web

We also had tickets to casa tonight. I love that this is a fun family event.  We had dinner at Chuy's (which always seems to be their pick) and then headed to the play.  The play was so well done and the perfect way to spend our evening!

Valentine's parties

ML has discovered that when your mom is room mom, you get to help choose the snacks.  Last time we did McKinley's sugar cookies.  This time she chose Del Taco nachos.  :)

She made this adorable cupcake for her Valentine holder.  We worked on it for a week and it turned out super cute!

Matt was able to sneak upstairs to Anna Grace's room for their party too. Their room mom thought to have them gather for a class picture. So fun!

More crafting

Morgan Leigh picked out a cupcake for her Valentine's box.  We did paper mache for the frosting.  And now we are covering that with tissue squares.  She has worked on it a little every day since Friday.

Whew!

It's science fair time.  Anna Grace has decided to measure the growth of a tomato plant using different kinds of water.  (If you don't know, I have the blackest thumb on the planet.  Growing anything green is NOT my gift.)  So I sighed a huge sigh of relief today when the first seed sprouted.  We have results to report on.  WHEW!

Valentine's crafting

We have spent the last two days picking out Valentine's from Pinterst.  We shopped and crafted.  What a great way to spend the weekend!  Here is AG watching the Silhouette cut out her cards.

Mariachis

I LOVE mariachis.  Tonight we went to one of my favorite Fort Worth spots for dinner and the band walked it.  We had to sit and enjoy the music for a while.  What a treat and we will have to go back often!

Dance party

I mis-ordered ML's Christmas present this year.  I had in mind just what I wanted to get, but sorting through the 1000's of amazon results was a little much!  So on try 2 - I got it right.  We have a disco light that changes with the music and is so much fun for dance parties.  Come join us for one!

New shoes!

AG asked to join running club this year at school.  I have loved having her be a part of it.  Today, as part of a Sketchers grant, anyone running Cowtown for the first time received new shoes.  I am sure these will make her cross the finish super fast!

Tea decanter

Mom and I hit a great estate sale before Christmas.  The man I bought it from insisted that men like to call their bourbon "tea" and I will forever refer to this decanter as such.  I gave it to Matt for Christmas, and our sweet niece gave him this sign.  It is so him!  It must be tea time....
