This is 40!

Sweet Whitley hosted a few of us for her 40th birthday.  Here I am in the photo booth with several sorority sisters.  It was so fun to be with all of them again!

It's almost as if no time passed.  I love my friends that pick up like that with me.  The girls are staying the night with a friend who offered to keep them.  She definitely spoiled us too!

Traditions

Our first day tradition always ends in a giant cookie cake.  These sweet girls had a great first day.

Morgan Leigh is already starting on her first 15 spelling words.  Even the first day has homework!

Back to school

 It's the first day of school!

AG will be in 4th grade this year.  I think we are both excited about her teacher!

ML is starting 1st grade.  I like to describe her teacher as a hispanic grandma.  (In high school so many friends grandmas were just like her)  She is going to love her, minus the homework.

This summer has flown by, as they always do.  I had an amazing summer with these two.  I read a blog yesterday that suggested you could number the summers you get to spend with  your kids.  That means that half of mine are gone with AG.  I treasure every moment and memory we made!

Summer is ending

One last dessert of summer.  We are getting back into the routine and dinner was in PJ's tonight.  Here we go!

Dessert poolside

We are going to some friends pool tonight for dinner.  They asked us to bring dessert and I let the girls choose this time.  So out rolls another batch of special k bars.  ML's face!  Sheesh!

Ticket day

Matt was so worried he would miss the delivery of our football tickets.  But he even got the mail today.  It's a big day - this is the first year for 4 tickets.  With the stadium being re-seated we decided to up to 4 seats.  The girls are thrilled!  In fact, my niece said it's like birthday and Christmas all at once....she knows him well!

Slush day

Daddy texted that it was slush day at Sonic.  They are all grins about their Nerd filled slush.

Sno-cones

This is another must do activity.  She pulled out the sno-cone maker today.

Do-seum

The new Children's museum opened recently.  We went to explore with A LOT of other people.

The girls had so much fun and added it to their top 10 list of summer activities we completed.

Special K

It wouldn't be a trip to mom's without some sort of baking.  There's chocolate all over them!

Back porch happy hour

My parents have decided to move to Fort Worth.  It quickly dawned on me I likely would have one last chance to visit before they move.  This spot of their back yard is what I will miss.  I can't count the happy hours spent here.  I really didn't expect to get emotional about them leaving here, but I will miss this spot.  So out we went for happy hour even though it's 96 tonight.

Date night

The kids are staying with Gigi and Grandpa tonight.  I thought I might be taking Matt to the airport for an early morning flight.  We decided he could Uber instead.  So now it's just a night out.  :)

Bucket pool!

This has been at the top of ML's summer bucket list for most of the summer.  We are finally here!  Fun afternoon....it must be happy hour now though!

Slumber party

We love these kiddos.  Tonight is their parents 15 year anniversary.  I offered for them to stay.  The big kids are pros at this....we will see how it goes for the littles....

Curly hair

The girls have been wanting curly hair in the mornings.  I had described these terrible sponge rollers I used to wear.  So we picked some up today and thought we'd try them out.  We'll see!
